Easy to make recipe: Potatos with homemade smoked pork

ENG: Hello gourmets! Here is another easy to make, but delicious recipe. This is one of the most popular Serbian dishes. It represents the basics of Serbian cuisine, it’s easy to make and you do not need any fancy ingredients. I bet you have all of these ingredients in your kitchen. But for this meal, I was inspired by the smoked pork my family made by ourselves this winter. Smoked pork is also one of the most famous products in Serbia, and many families make it for their family. It is sooo good, salty, simple gorgeous, so I decided to make this dish for you. After all these holidays, and overeating we need to do a little detox and have some lighter dishes for our lunch. Preparation time: 75-90 minutes 

Ingredients: 

  • 1 onion
  • 1/3 of a leek
  • 1 carrot
  • 1/2 kg of potatoes (depending of the number of people you are serving this this)
  • 1 coffee cup of rice
  • 200 g of smoked pork
  • Cayenne pepper
  • salt
  • papper
  • oil

Preparation:

First of all, prepare all the ingredients. Chop into the small pieces 1 onion, 1/3 of a leek and 1 carrot. Put oil into the pot and add onion. Let it cook a little bit, until it starts to get golden color. Than, add leek and carrots. Chop smoked pork into slices and add it into the pot. When all the ingredients that are in the pot are fried, add two tea spoons of cayenne pepper and than add the potato. Before that, you have cleaned and chopped the potatoes. So, when you have added the potatoes you also need to add a glass of water into the pot. Let it cook for a minute and than add a coffee cup of rice. Than pour water until it covers the ingredients, and put it in the oven. Let it cook for 45-60 minutes on the temperature of 200°C. Cook it until the water evaporates and than your meal is ready to serve.

SRB: Dragi moji, posle Božićnih i novogidišnjih praznika, posle dve nedelje prejedanja i masne i teške hrane, rešila sam da sa vama podelim mojrecpet za svima vama poznato nacionalno jelo, đuveč. Na engleskom sam ga nazvala ” Kropmpir sa suvim mesom”, čisto kako bi i moji ostali čitaoci znali o čemu je reč. Dakle, posle ove dve nedelje preukusne, divne ali masnei teške hrane, svima namje potreban mali detoks organizma. Zato sam rešila da za vas pripremim ovo jednostavno ali i jako ukusno jelo. Kao što verovatno znate, jednostavno je za pripremu i ne trebaju vam nikakvi fensi sastojci kako bi ga pripremili. Sve ove sastojke sigurna sam, imate u svom frižideru. Inspiracija za ovo jelo bilo je domaće suvo svinjsko meso koje su ove godine pripremili moji ukućani. Pravimo ga po našem starom porodičnom receptu koji ću jednom prilikom podeliti sa vama. S obzirom na to da je ove godine ispalo savršeno, slatno, preukusno sa divnom bojom, rešila sam ga ubacim nekoliko parčića u ovo jelo. Dakle, da pređemo na pripremu. Sastojci:

  • glavica crnog luka
  • 1/3 praziluka ( ukoliko je veći )
  •  1-2 šargarepe
  • pola kg krompira ( količina kromppira zavisi od broja ljudi kojima poslužujete ovo jelo)
  • 1 šolja pirinča
  • 200 g suvom mesa
  • aleva paprika
  • so
  • biber
  • ulje

 Priprema:

Pre svega pripremite sastojke. Iseckajte luk, praziluk, šargarepu i suvo meso. Zatim u pliću šerpu sipajte ulja i dodajte crni luk da se proprži. Kada je se luk malo propržio dodajte praziluk i šargarepu još 10-tak minuta. Dodajte suvo meso koje ste isekli na parčiće i dve kašičice aleve paprike. Propržiti sve sastojke još koji minut i dodajte krompir koji ste prethodno očistili i isekli na kockice. Dodajte čašu vode, posolite, pobiberite, i dodajte jednu šolju pirinča. Ostaviti da je prokuva par minuta a zatim sipajte vodu dok ne pokrije sastojke. Prebacite šerpu u rernu i ostavite da se peče 45-60 minuta na 200°C, dok voda ne ispari. Kada je krompir kuvan i sva voda je isparila, jelo je spremno i možete ga poslužiti.
